Group Agreements
Here, we outline the expectations for participation in group support with The Beekeeper's Well. These agreements are for the purpose of creating a safe space in which every participant feels welcome, safe, and supported.
Expectations
Confidentiality
What is shared in the group remains in the group. Do not share names, locations, or identifying details of other participants' lives and stories.
General references to your experiences in the group, or relevantly sharing parts of another person's story (without identifying factors) is acceptable.
Mutual Support
Our support groups are meant for mutual support and validation of the grief experience. Be mindful that everyone in the group deserves a chance to share their thoughts and feelings and to receive support. Dominating the conversation, unsolicited advice and attempts to "fix" others are not appropriate behaviors in this setting.
Feedback
From time to time, we may reach out to see how we are doing, how we can better support you. This might also be a time when we will offer feedback to you regarding your participation, growth, or struggles within the group. This can be by individual contact or through a confidential group survey.
Right of Refusal
You reserve the right to determine if our support groups are a good fit for you. You never have to justify your decision if the group is not right for you.
We reserve the right to determine if you are a good fit for our support groups. Any sign of intolerance, judgment, aggression, or inability to respect boundaries can be met with private feedback, suggesting private grief coaching for a time, professional referrals, or permanent removal from group support with The Beekeeper's Well.
We are open to suggestions and the possibility of offering additional support groups and modalities. Please contact us if you are interested in other support. We have determined for our purposes that it is not appropriate to admit (for example) cousins to sibling support groups or grandparents, aunts and uncles to parent support groups, etc. However, we are happy to explore other possibilities for support with you.
